Video proctoring is among the most common features used to prevent cheating on online exams. Depending on the type of remote proctoring solution, students can be monitored either by a live human proctor or AI-based software that can flag any suspicious student activities.

It cannot tell that you specifically split screen. It can however monitor that you clicked away from the window or to another tab. However, the same log item is caused if the student is inactive for 30 seconds with no discrepancy.

Even if you were inclined to deny the allegations, it will be difficult if a teacher saw you copying answers or using hidden materials during an exam.
